We are delighted to invite you to a new era. Over the past three years, we have been working hard to take Teakie to new heights and today we can finally share our vision with you.
First, I’d like to take a moment to thank our clients, collaborators, and supporters since we first opened our doors nearly 7 years ago. Your trust, your patience, and your business have been truly meaningful. I am proud to look back at the projects and partnerships we’ve built and look forward to achieving even greater heights together.
Next, I’d like to share a story. When I first dreamt of Teakie, it was a tool I wished I had. How many times I’d ask my friends, my family, my colleagues — hey, do you know a good… Contractor? Designer? Babysitter? Tutor? Make up artist?
To this day, even with all the social platforms and innovations like AI that exist, we still ask each other for our best recommendations. We still look for the best people to work with. We still need people.
Over the years, Teakie took a life of its own. Demand for servicing was high, and I quickly pivoted. It occupied much of my time. First, in learning a new craft, and second, in doing. Businesses, after all, have voracious appetites.
No matter how much technology or progress we’ve made, it’s people that make the world go ‘round. It’s the workers paving our roads, the doctors making us feel better, the farmers helping us eat, the teachers helping us dream, and the list goes on. It is people that make the world work. Technology is a tool that helps.
So, while the race to AI forges ahead, I simply want to go back to the basics. With progress, innovation — and style.
So today, nearly a decade after it was conceived, we’re going back to our roots. I’m thrilled to present to you today Teakie.com. A platform dedicated to people.
I built the directory you see today. It is due for an update, and I’d really like to do that. But first, I’m putting it out there. This is what Teakie was created for. This is what I built. This is why I’m here.
